Dominique and Ella May were good friends. They ate lunch together at the senior center in Venice, CA. I met Dominique when he used to walk his poodles by my studio. This shot (in color) became one of my Billboard art projects, sponsored by Kodak in 1984. The project was called L.A. Welcomes the World (to the 1984) Olympics. The mission of the project was to show the world who the real people of LA were, liberating billboards from only presenting advertisements.
